Emotion follows Jepsen’s 2012 U.S. debut Kiss, which featured the viral smash, “Call Me Maybe.” Jepsen recorded Emotion in Los Angeles, New York and Stockholm, working with a bevy of producers and songwriters from across the musical spectrum. While Emotion has yet to spawn a hit as ubiquitous as “Call Me Maybe,” the Tom Hanks-starring video for “I Really Like You” has wracked up over 61 million views on YouTube. The singer also drew critical acclaim for “All That,” which she performed on Saturday Night Live with the help of Hynes and Rechtshaid.

Rihanna showed off her “ginger” makeover on Instagram over the weekend and now Carly Rae Jepsen has followed suit, debuting a sexy red bob, on the cover of Notion magazine.

The ‘Call Me Maybe’ singer poses in front of a red wall, her bright blue eyes emphasised by her new ginger ’do, as she bites into a cheeseburger. Sporting a Coca-Cola slogan T-shirt, Carly Rae works the all-American girl look, while inside the issue things take a turn towards the ’70s.

Shot by Ben Cope, with styling from Caley Rinker and art direction by Alexis Knox, the 29-year-old star perches in the front of a car, clad in striped fur and dark denim jeans.

Carly Rae Jepsen has announced the title of her new album.

The singer will release E·MO·TION as her third studio album this summer, and revealed the official artwork which you can see below.

The album is thought to have 12 brand new tracks on the standard edition and a further five on the deluxe version, according to a product description on Amazon Japan.

Jepsen has released ‘I Really Like You’ as the lead single in the US, with the track available to download in the UK from April 27.The star has also released promotional track ‘All That’ after performing it live for the first time on Saturday Night Live this past weekend.

Of course Carly Rae Jepsen’s incredibly catchy track, “I Really Like You,” deserves two videos! That’s why, on Tuesday (March 17), the singer released a second visual for the song.

Jepsen uploaded the lyric video for “I Really Like You,” which includes crafts and crafts galore for you DIY enthusiasts. There’s embroidery, typewriters, paper cut-outs and dollhouses. It’s enough to get you pumped to create something! In fact, I can’t help but think the lyric video is more stellar than the actual, official video for “I Really Like You,” which starred Tom Hanks.

I mean, yeah, the official vid has Hanks and Justin Bieber, but other than star power, it’s just a bunch of people walking down the street. And most of the time, you’re just thinking to yourself, “Why is Tom Hanks so disgruntled?”

But this lyric video? It’s clever. It looks like they put a lot of work into it. They had to embroider all those “reallys” with their bare hands. They had to type really, really, really fast in time the lyrics to the words. It’s intricate.

Tell me what you think. Which video do you like best?

It has been announced that Carly Rae Jepsen will be releasing a new single titled “I Really Like You” sometime in 2015, according to her record label, Interscope. Interscope’s promo site also teases Rixton and the newly signed Selena Gomez.

In June 2013, the 29-year-old Jepsen said she was hoping to mix folk music with electronica. “I have a folky side in my blood from what I used to listen to with my parents,” the pop princess said. “And it’ll be fun to incorporate that more in the verses of the pop songs.” Can’t wait.

The Canadian singer-songwriter from Mission, British Columbia currently based in Vancouver. In 2007, she placed third in Canadian Idol season five’s competition and was a part of the Canadian Idol Top 3 concert tour. Shortly after competing on Canadian Idol, she independently released her debut album, Tug of War, through MapleMusic Recordings on September 30, 2008. Three years later, she released a new single, titled “Call Me Maybe”, on Canadian label 604 Records, which was followed by the release of her debut EP titled Curiosity on February 14, 2012.

In February 2012, pop singer Justin Bieber referred her to his manager, Scooter Braun, who subsequently signed Jepsen to his Schoolboy Records label while obtaining an American deal with global distribution on affiliate Interscope Records, after “Call Me Maybe” gained popularity on YouTube by reaching 400 million views. The single reached the number one spot on both the US Billboard and Canadian Hot 100, while also topping the charts in 19 other countries. Jepsen’s musical influences include James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and Van Morrison.

Jepsen has received multiple awards and nominations, including three Juno Awards and two Grammy Award nominations. She was also named by Billboard as 2012’s Rising Star and introduced in Canada’s Walk of Fame’s Slaight Allan Awards.

Carly Rae Jepsen may have just wrapped up her role as ‘Cinderella’ on Broadway, but that does not mean it is time for her to relax. After playing the role of a lifetime (who wouldn’t want to play a Disney Princess?), Carly is already back in the studio.

The “Call Me Maybe” star let all of her fans know she was back doing what she knows best, singing! Carly returned back to Los Angeles from New York just five days ago and is wasting no time in getting back to working on some new material. Sharing a photo of herself in the studio today (above) on her Instagram account with the caption, “My happy place. <3″, has us extremely excited about what is to come from Carly.
